Meet Miss Patina Muse: Sarah 🎄
She recently won our Rosie Talbot giveaway, and we’re happy to introduce her!
Sarah studied at Bryn Mawr College, one of the Seven Sisters near Philadelphia. She grew up in a small seaside town in New Hampshire, with family roots in Philadelphia, and moved to London just over a year ago to pursue a Master’s in History at Queen Mary University of London, from which she has now graduated. Her love of sewing and costume comes from her family, with generations involved in clothing, millinery, and children’s wear. Growing up around historic houses and a living history museum further shaped her creative and historical interests. Volunteering at a museum at university inspired her to consider a career in museums, combining her passions for history, theatre, and making.

Sarah specialises in the Renaissance and early modern period (1500s–1600s), with a Master’s dissertation on embroidery. She loves florals and hidden animals in textiles - an aesthetic that reminds her of Miss Patina’s whimsical style!
Outside her studies, she enjoys fantasy books and films, loves theatre and acting, and hopes to return to fencing. Her favourite films include Labyrinth, The Last Unicorn, Star Wars, Crimson Peak, Little Women (2019), Jane Eyre, and Shakespeare adaptations like Twelfth Night and As You Like It.
